CreatorsPalette > Multnomah Falls early morning. Columbia River Gorge, Oregon.

These falls are as beautiful as ever but what kept drawing me back to this particular photo was the light stand in this early morning hour. My imagination kept jumping to the light stand in Narnia - maybe after Aslan defeated the White Witch. Now I need to take the same photo some snowy morning to capture the scene when the White Witch was still in control (you'll have to read C.S. Lewis' "Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe" to understand). Too bad it is 950 miles away from me...

CreatorsPalette > Bradford Flowering Pear (Pyrus calleryana 'Bradford')
Snowy white flowers in the spring and bronze-red fall foliage. Excellent tree for street planting. Not recommended for areas of high wind or snow loads that will break branches. Self-nonfruitful and not pollinated by regular pear varieties. Height to 35 feet, spread to 30 feet. Cold hardy to USDA Zone 5.
Every once in a while, a great photo drops in your lap. This tree is at the end of my street and I saw the setting sun and clouds conspiring for a perfect shot just as I drove home.

Sunset with moon and star over Lake Atitlan seen from our compound at Buenas-Nuevas in Panajachel, Guatemala. San Pedro Volcano and city of San Pedro on far side of lake.
