Rosemary Clarke Flowering Apricot (Prunus mume)
A beautiful display of white, double blossoms with red calyx. Abundant and very showy. Very fragrant. Grows to a height of 20-25 feet and spread of 15-20 feet. Cold hardy to USDA Zone 6 but be aware of late frosts on this very early bloomer.
This variety sets fruit. It is unknown to this photographer whether the fruit is as desirable as the fruit of the Prunus ume. Fruit seems to stay mostly green and drops upon turning yellow-orange. This is one of the few found still hanging on the tree.
