Tulare County Foothills - Spring Wildflowers before the Storm : Tulare County offers an amazing assortment of scenic and photographic opportunities. This is one of many drives you can take through the Sierra Nevada foothills catching the brilliant spring wildflowers. These scenes are along Dry Creek Drive east of Woodlake. A storm was brewing but the sunshine periodically popped through the clouds for dramatic lighting on beautiful hillside views.

Your Bio

Ron Ludekens started his love of photography while a student at U.C. Santa Barbara in the early 1970s. The amazing sunsets from the cliffs overlooking the Pacific, winter storms and wild surf always drew the mind and soul away from the studies.

“Unfortunately, my passion for photography waned once I got a taste of the darkroom – guess I didn’t have the patience, discipline, money or place to master that marvelous skill. So, I have 30 years of slides, mostly of vacations and family.”

Ron was an early adopter of computers with his 16 year career at Westinghouse. So when digital cameras came on the scene, it was no surprise that he embraced it with enthusiasm. In 1990 Ron re-joined the family wholesale nursery business (L.E. Cooke Co) and has used his love of photography to capture many of the products they grow as seen in the Horticultural section of this website.

Ron’s love of the outdoors is enhanced by his love for the God that created it all. Later, his photography of people was learned by photographing family and friends from the many church events over the years. It is his joy to continue to share those photos with these friends through the password protected First Pres Church tab on this website.

Ron makes his home in Central California in Visalia where he is surrounded by the amazing diversity of agriculture, the spectacular Sierra Nevada range and his family.

Besides the photos that have been made available on this website, Ron is available to be your photographer for the special occasions and events in your life. Please contact him by phone at 559-732-7165 or Email.

God Bless.
